With drought conditions forecast, Kihei residents are well aware that it only takes one heavy rain in Kula to once again bring the dreaded mud floods to their homes, businesses and infrastructure.
This month, the Kihei Community Association’s general membership meeting will gather feedback on various aspects contributing to the assault.
As the case begins in the backcountry, we’ll hear from Scott Meidell of Haleakala Ranch. Since the location of interest is South Maui, Maui County Council member Tom Cook of the district will participate. To get the big picture, the talk on the southwest Maui watershed comes from Michael Reyes.
The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on November 21 at the ProArts Playhouse in Azeka I.
Although membership in the KCA is not required, it is encouraged. Sign up at www.gokihei.org/members/signup.php.
